It’s that “most wonderful time of the year” when KDZA celebrates its 24th year of doing business in South Africa and we are excited to commemorate another year of successful business on the continent.
Despite the real challenges the world has faced, and South Africa’s individual challenges, Kyocera has maintained its position as the number one Copier/MFP in the office segment, as well as a pioneer in the transformation from print to digitisation, and we continue to dream big. Although the state of the economy has made us cautious over the past couple of years, we still believe Africa is a place of enormous opportunity. For this reason, we will continue to focus on and grow hardware, software and solutions.
While it was impossible to predict the devastating impact that COVID-19 would have on the business world, a well-thought-out business plan allowed us to buffer the negative consequences. As part of our relentless drive for innovation, a large part of our workforce was already fully enabled to work remotely prior to the pandemic and this allowed a relatively painless switch to a new world of work-from-home when lockdown hit.
In fact, COVID-19 and the subsequent large-scale adoption of work-from-home have meant that even the staunchest opponents of digitisation have realised its benefits. We are experiencing a crucial mind shift in how we approach work.
For Kyocera, this marks an exciting opportunity because the mainstream shift to digital tools means that the potential for our document management and digital tools should accelerate in the coming years. It’s up to us as the champions of digital technology to educate our customers on how our tools can solve their pain points and make their evolution to digital easier.
A Kyocera Philosophy that comes to mind is “the result of life or work = attitude X effort X ability”. We would not be where we are today without the efforts and positive attitude of Kyocera’s employees and its partners.
Here’s wishing you all a happy KDZA birthday and many happy years to come.
